We help with high wage, hands on careers in the skilled trades through apprenticeship programs. The Idaho Workers Opportunity Network is a partnership between the Idaho AFL-CIO and the Idaho Department of Labor. Our objective as an organization is to expand the working knowledge of Registered Apprenticeships in the state of Idaho. We are the bridge between the labor industry and the apprentice, paving a way for high paying careers in the skilled trades.
What is registered apprenticeship?
As an apprentice you will work and learn under the direction of an experienced journeyworkers. Throughout your apprenticeship you are provided a combination of structured skills and training that lead to becoming a highly skilled worker in your chosen trade. As you gain skills and experience through your apprenticeship program, of your choice, you are compensated through increased wages.
Is Apprenticeship Right for Me?
As we learned during the COVID pandemic and as we progress through the 21st century, the need for skilled workers has only become more essential. Completing a registered apprenticeship program, workers equip themselves for a rewarding career in a wide range of interesting and challenging trade occupations.
Currently, there are over 1,200 apprenticeable occupations in a wide variety of industries with more being added all the time.
Apprenticeships work for all people – If you have the dedication to acquire the skills, knowledge, and experience required a registered apprenticeship program is right for you.
